PRACTITIONERS
DAVID WADSWORTH B.Phty (Hons)

Originally trained in physiotherapy, David graduated from The University of Queensland with first class honours and the University Medal in 1995. Since that time David has worked both publicly & privately in Australia, including owning & operating a large multidisciplinary private practice located on the fringe of Brisbane's CBD for 7 years. In this practice he treated both sports & chronic pain patients. David has worked overseas in the United Kingdom, and studied in both Europe & the USA. He is currently enrolled in a Masters of Musculoskeletal & Sports Physiotherapy at Griffith University, & will graduate from this program at the end of 2008.
David's first exposure to more advanced manual therapy skills was in his first year out of university, where he took a class run by Dr Loren Rex DO ("Bear") from the Ursa Foundation in Seattle. Impressed by the gentle yet effective osteopathic approach to manual therapy, David continued to regularly take classes in the USA to further his skills over the next 8 years.
A significant undertaking in his education was the Silver Series, a two year course offered by Bear, which David completed in 2001. This lead to a change in the focus of his practice, enabling his approach to chronic problems to move beyond the mechanical (musculoskeletal) model to incorporate cranial, visceral, myofascial and endocrine approaches. With his continual specialisation in chronic pain & dysfunction, David established Chronic Pain Solutions in 2007 to better deliver personalised care for complex problems. Chronic Pain Solutions successfully treats people with chronic dysfunctions of all systems within the body.
In addition to private practice, David is involved in teaching other manual therapy practitioners, both in Australia and Europe. He has been a guest lecturer at The University of Queensland & Griffith University Physiotherapy programs, although his teaching focus primarily involves post-graduate level teaching to other clinicians. When not in the clinic, David enjoys cycling and spending time with his wife Brooke and their son Luke.
